The Single Malt & Scotch Whisky Extravaganza Fall 2013 Schedule

Once again, if you haven’t noticed, it’s whisky event season.  The one that is nearest and dearest to our hearts is the Single Malt and Scotch Whisky Extravaganza organized by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America.  This is should not be surprising, given that we’ve been writing a full page “column” in the Society’s member magazine, Unfiltered, for over a year now (and couldn’t be prouder–check out the link in the left-hand column.  Hell, we even appear in their promotional materials (see the pic just below). Beyond that, our long-time readers know that the Extravaganza was our first big whisky event and that that night turned out to be legendary in the annals of Malt Impostordom.  Tuxes were worn (not because they were required), many new friends were made, merriment was had in abundance, and there were hours for which we still cannot account. 
   

For those who have never attended one of the Extravaganzas, well, you are about to emerge from a black hole of boredom and mediocrity with all of the wonder and awe with which we emerged from our alien abduction lost hours wandering the streets of Boston after that first event.  For one thing, the Extravaganza features rare and exceptional single malt Scotch (not to mention single cask whiskies from the Society) and unique whiskies from around the world.  For another, the Extravaganza includes a delicious dinner buffet as well as a selection of premium imported cigars for your later enjoyment (you know, once you’re finished employing your palate for the evening).  Need another?  Knowledgeable representatives from each participating distillery.  Boom!  Not enough for you?  Well, then there’s the camaraderie of the Society: it’s a genuinely great group of folks who make up the Society.  What do you have to say after that?  Still not enough?  How about the fact that we’ll be there, too (at least at the Boston event)?  Look for us there–we’ll be the ones with the Groucho Marx glasses.  Nothing to say after that last one, huh?  I thought so.
