The Classic Cask 23yo Natural Finish Blended Scotch Whisky

30 ml woke mermaid mini

Tasting notes:
The Classic Cask 23yo Natural Finish Blended Scotch Whisky opens sneaky with salt and pepper cod grilling over clean-burning lump charcoal. There’s also almond butter on dense-crumbed sourdough toast and a woke mermaid who prefers to keep her torso cloaked in seaweed. The oft-handled wooden steering wheel of a vintage Jaguar XKE. The afterwake of a hummingbird. A silk Persian rug in Tom Brady’s Montana lodge.

The mouth starts smooth and buttery, then explodes with peppered vanilla marzipan flugelhorns. There’s apricot wine, ancho chiles, and the good intentions of a wanna-be circus clown betrayed by the hysterical coulrophobia sweeping the nation. The French maids wiped down your oak desk a few days ago, while you were still in Sri Lanka. On your return, as you place down the sandalwood notion box, the mouthfeel afterimage of their all-natural cleaning solution mix with your memories of your trip. You met world-class surfers and kite-sailing politicians. If you were only so inclined, the stories you could tell!

The finish is a smooth-sanded ladder to a hatch in the belltower. Your tongue refuses to press the mute button; lime-caramel hard candy pop rocks as dreamt up by the creative team of Veruca Salt and Violet Beauregarde turn the screw on the suspense: When will the finish finish? Tick, tick, tick. Not yet! It’s a distinguished guest, all bay rum aftershave and tweed bespoke suit, who lacks the emotional intelligence to know to leave! As a host, it’s both an honor and a pleasure, yet the thought, unbidden, arises: Will I ever again be able to drink anew? Or should I just submit to the Unfinish?

Rating:
On the scale of movies–
The Classic Cask 23 Year-Old Natural Finish Blended Scotch Whisky is Christian Marclay’s The Clock–It’s a 24-hour installation that’s a montage of thousands of clips from movies and television shows artfully assembled so that a clock or watch is shown, or perhaps a person mentions the time in precise congruence with local time. There are hundreds of subtle themes and motifs, yet no first-second-third act structure; the movie itself becomes time, invoking the eternal. It rolls along and on, circles back upon itelf and is always being reborn and redying.
